Reverb Calculator

The Reverb Calculator tab allows you to calculate the ideal settings to put into your reverb plugin of choice to avoid the reverb clashing with the notes playing on your track.

You can quickly copy the calculated values to paste into your reverb plugin by clicking on them*.

project settings

  • BPM: In order for the reverb calculations to be correct, first type in your project’s BPM into the text box and press [Enter]. Alternatively you can click the Tap button or press [Space]* bar to the beat of your project to determine the BPM.

  • Time Signature: If your project is not in the 4 / 4 time signature, change this to match your song’s time signature.

Reverb Settings

  • Size: How long you want your reverb to last in terms of bars or beats.

  • Note Measure: The length of your midi notes that your adding reverb to.

  • Rhythm*: If your notes have a more complex rhythmic pattern such as Dotted or Triplets, change this setting accordingly.

Reverb calculations

  • Pre-delay Time: This value is calculated based on the Note Measure selected. It’s the length of your notes in milliseconds. Copy this value to the pre-delay setting in your reverb to ensure the reverb does not begin until the note finishes playing.

  • Pre-delay Hz*: If you’re using a more complicated reverb tool with an LFO, you can use this value to set the frequency your LFO runs at.

  • Decay Time: This value is calculated based on the Size selected. Copy this value into your reverb plugin’s decay setting to ensure the reverb decays completely in the amount of bars you selected.

  • Total Reverb Time: This value is calculated based on the Size selected. It’s the length of the bars in milliseconds.

* Feature is only available on Producer Toolkit Pro.
