Introducing SwiftLAME

A lightweight open-source Swift wrapper around the LAME C Library

Today we are excited to announce the release of SwiftLAME, an open-source lightweight Swift wrapper around the LAME C project for encoding audio files to MP3 format.

This project was created to support the Audio Converter feature in our Producer Toolkit macOS app, as converting to MP3 is still not supported by Apple’s AudioToolbox framework. For developers wishing to add just MP3 conversion in their Apple-platform applications, we believe this is a great alternative to this much heavier (but still great!) FFmpeg library.

This is an early alpha release, and may contain bugs or missing features. We hope you find this framework useful, and ask that you consider contributing to the project on GitHub.
